Explanations

  • Special Restricted: This means any competitor who has never won a 1st, 2nd or 3rd prize at any eisteddfod or other competition anywhere at any age before the closing date of June 1st this year. Clarification may be required.
  • Restricted: This means any competitor who has never won a 1st prize in any eisteddfod or other competition anywhere at that age in the same category before the closing date of June 1st this year.
  • Classical Period – Music written between 1750 and 1820.
  • Romantic Period – 1830-1900 approx.
  • 20th/21st Century – Classical music written between 1900 to present day
  • Jazz /Ragtime/Boogie/Blues/Pop/Theatre and TV
  • Hawkesbury Residents – Open only to competitors who live in the Hawkesbury area.
  • Unless otherwise specified time limits are: 16/u – max.  3 mins,  17/over – max 4
  • Sonata: Unless otherwise specified time limits are:13 years and under – maximum 4   14 years and over – maximum 5 minutes.
  • Competitors will not be penalised if they perform less than the maximum time.
  • Performers are encouraged to announce the title of the piece and composer.

Piano Championships

Two contrasting pieces. Competitors must perform in 2 other solo sections. NOTE that duets/trios and sight reading do not count as a qualifying entry.
